The Architecture of Forestis is inspired by the same natural features that were once decisive in establishing a sanatorium. The excellent water, air, sun and climate are reflected here in equally authentic materials. Stone, from which the spring emerges, glass, as clear as the air, warm materials that warm like the sun, and the wood that grows best in this climate. Outside and inside, these natural materials are in harmony with each other, just like nature itself.
The origins of Forestis go back to the year 1912. Doctors were commissioned to carry out various environmental studies at this location. The outstanding conditions here prompted the establishing of a tuberculosis sanatorium, built by architect Otto Wagner in accordance with the doctors’ ideals. Today, Forestis is still building on these results.
